UNIVERSAL RULES SHEET
          The following rules pertain to all high school golf tournaments played in the rio grande valley in the 2016-2017 high school golf season.

STROKE LIMIT

**  The 9 stroke limit is in place.  (triple bogey limit for JV tournaments)

   * - You must attempt 8 strokes before picking up your golf ball for a 9.
   * - If you attempt 9 strokes before picking up your golf ball, you will make a 10.
   * - If you attempt 10 strokes before picking up your golf ball, you will make an 11, etc…

PACE OF PLAY

** Your group must not fall behind the group in front of you more holes than it began.

   Warning - is NOW.  This rules sheet IS your warning.
   1st offense - on the course. You will be placed on the clock.  You will have 30 min to get back
           on pace.  Unable to do so will result in a 2 stroke penalty for the violator(s).
   2nd offense - on the course. You will be placed on the clock.  You will have 30 min to get back
           on pace.  Unable to do so will result in disqualification for the violator(s).

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

** Players are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike way.  Any cursing, club throwing,
   or refusal to follow proper golf etiquette will result in the following:

   Warning - is NOW.  This rules sheet IS your warning.
   1st offense - 2 stroke penalty.
   2nd offense - Disqualification.

TECHNOLOGY

** No technological communication or entertainment device is allowed during the course of play
   such as, but not limited to, cell phones, ipods, mp3 players, etc.
   (exceptions:  1) cell phones used due to an emergency, 2) yardage devices such as range
              finders, but the information must be shared with group if asked)
