COACHES PROFESSIONAL DUTIES
          The following duties and expectations pertain to all coaches during all high school golf tournaments played in the rio grande valley in the 2016-2017 high school golf season.  All coaches are more than welcome to coach their players between green and tee, but are also asked to attend to the following duties while out on the golf course:

SPECTATORS

          A coach must monitor spectators while out on the golf course making sure they follow the spectator rules.

PACE OF PLAY

          A coach must monitor pace of play while out on the golf course making sure that the groups do not fall
                    behind the group in front of them more holes than they began.

   1st offense - on the course. Coach places group on the clock.  Group will have 30 min to get back
           on pace.  Unable to do so will result in a 2 stroke penalty for the violator(s).
   2nd offense - on the course. Coach places group on the clock.  Group will have 30 min to get back
           on pace.  Unable to do so will result in disqualification for the violator(s).

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

          A coach must monitor player unsportsmanlike conduct while out on the golf course.  They are to report
                     any unsportsmanlike conduct to the golf director.

** Players are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike way.  Any cursing, club throwing,
   or refusal to follow proper golf etiquette will result in the following:

   1st offense - 2 stroke penalty.
   2nd offense - Disqualification.

TECHNOLOGY

          A coach must monitor the restriction of technology during play while out on the golf course.

** No technological communication or entertainment device is allowed during the course of play
   such as, but not limited to, cell phones, ipods, mp3 players, etc.
   (exceptions:  1) cell phones used due to an emergency, 2) yardage devices such as range
              finders, but the information must be shared with group if asked)

   1st offense - 2 stroke penalty.
   2nd offense - Disqualification.

RULINGS

          A coach may conduct rulings while out on the golf course but only if the coach is 100% sure of the
                     the ruling.
          If a coach is unsure of a ruling, he/she must help the player with the procedure of playing two balls.
         The coach will then instruct the player to report the ruling in the club house at the end of play.

REVIEWING SCORECARDS

          A coach may review their players scorecards after the round, but must then send the players to turn in
                    their scorecards immediately after.

          A COACH MAY NOT HOLD ON TO ALL OF HIS/HER TEAM'S SCORECARDS AFTER A ROUND.

          The scorecards must be turned in ASAP after a round is complete.

          Coaches may ask for the cards back after the tournament for keepsake.
